Life Skills Program

NRS offers a full range of assessments and therapies aimed at helping adults and children become as independent and active as possible in their own home and community, or in a transitional living setting or in nursing home.

Many skills that are acquired at this stage are vital pre-requisites to quality of life and a successful return to work or school. Areas addressed include:

  • Self-care and daily routines (including dressing, hygiene, feeding, mobility)
  • Homemaking and home maintenance (cooking, housekeeping, laundry, budgeting, household repairs, lawn and snow care)
  • Community living skills (driving, TTC transportation, shopping, banking)
  • Care-giving (parenting, elder care)
  • Leisure (hobbies, social activities).
