CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Neuro-Rehab Services Inc. is a private, community based rehabilitation company that provides Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Language Therapy, Social Work Counseling, Case Management, Kinesiology and Rehab Coaching services to children and adults who have suffered traumatic brain injuries and other catastrophic and complex injuries due to motor vehicle accidents and other causes. Our main office and clinic is at Dufferin and Steeles, bordering Toronto, but our professionals and paraprofessionals travel throughout the GTA and South Western Ontario to provide on site visits to clients in their homes, at school, at work and in the community at large. Some physiotherapy and kinesiology clients are seen in the clinic. Hours are flexible, salary is competitive, and a benefit package is available for those who work full time. Reliable transportation is required; travel expenses are reimbursed.

Summary of Essential Qualifications

  • Regulated professionals must have:
    • A minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience with traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and/or Community Rehabilitation.
    • Registration and be a member in good standing with COTO/CASLPO/CPO/ College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers of Ontario.
  • Kinesiologists must have a Phys. Ed. or Kinesiology degree and be eligible for membership with OKA.
  • Rehab Support Workers (Rehab Coaches) must have at minimum a College diploma or University degree, plus training or working experience in a rehabilitation related field.
  • All applicants must demonstrate:
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and assessment skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the inter-professional team and community-based service providers including consultation with insurers and lawyers
    • Ability to identify and meet own learning needs in pursuit of ongoing professional development
    • Professional accountability
    • Ability to manage a varied caseload and meet required timelines
    • Ability to integrate theoretical concepts and research findings into practice and maintain an evidence-based, best practice approach
    • Flexibility and knowledge to provide a blend of treatment options to optimize client progress in rehabilitation
    • Excellent verbal and written English skills
    • Computer literacy and internet access as required for report writing and frequent emailing
    • A valid driver's license and a car is required for home, work and community visits (travel expenses are reimbursed)
